Focus '07 - Paulsboro HS DT

With the recruiting season set to take it up a notch as the summer season dawns upon us, SOR.com introduces fans to another Paulsboro HS standout. This particular prospect excels on both the gridiron and on the wrestling mat, having been the State Heavyweight Wresting Champion runner-up this past year.

All-South Jersey DT and State Heavyweight Wresting Champion runner-up, Demetrius Hester (6'0 285), has been getting some strong Division I football interest in the month of May. In the last few weeks, Hester had coaches from Syracuse and Rutgers stop by his school a visit.

"Coach Cross from Syracuse and Coach Galiano from Rutgers both seem like great guys. Plus they both like what they have seen from me on tape. I may camp at both schools. I know I will camp at Rutgers for a day. I am just waiting for the camp info to come in. I think Alex Silvestro will go to the RU one with me and we may go to the Penn State camp together," stated Hester.

In the mean time, Hester has been working out at school three days a week, mostly working on speed and agility. "Agility and quickness are things that are great for football and wrestling. I think I have good feet, hands, strength, and leverage and that comes from training hard for both sports."

In the future, Hester has two clear aspirations. "My goals are to gain a Division I scholarship in football and win a state championship in wrestling. I came very close this year to winning states, and that is something I want to accomplish badly."

In addition to these Big East schools, Hester is also getting regular interest from Temple, Hofstra, and Bowling Green.
