Byron Williams

"My offers have been increasing," Byron said. "I now have offers from Iowa, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Hofstra, Townson, Temple, Maryland, and Central Florida. I attended camps at Rutgers and Penn State. Penn State gave me a verbal offer two days ago so hopefully it will show in writing this week."

Basketball Recruiting

In many ways, the fact that all five came to campus on the same day (or at least tried to) was a coup unto itself because just one year ago, when Gary Waters was still an unknown coach from the Midwest, half of New Jersey had already written him off at Rutgers.

Waters is a deliberate, determined guy, and upon arriving from Kent State to a place he knew almost no one, especially influential high school and traveling team coaches, and bringing a staff of Midwesterners, he sat himself down at the state university and over the first few months called just about none of them to make an introduction.

Basketball - Talent overload in New Jersey

Six-foot rising senior point guard Maureece Rice (Strawberry Mansion H.S./Philadelphia), who is expected to pass Wilt Chamberlain as the most prolific scorer in Philadelphia high school history, has left camp after the first day. Allegedly, Rice was upset that he had only taken three shots in his team's first five possessions. His teammates were glad to see him go. Go figure.

Fan Feedback

Hey Mike! What's happening! I know it has been a while since we
corresponded but I wanted to let you know that the new site KICKS @SS!!! I
love it. I can't wait for the recruiting season to heat up - I think I will
hit your site 1000 times a day - one time for each yard that Pittman will
rack up this year ;-)

Vacation time

I'll be gone for a few days ... up to New England to visit family. Big Dog, Netwhispers and Dan will cover while I am away.
