A LOOK BACK
Mike Fasano was a bit bored one day and sent me a look back at some of the players Rutgers recruited a couple of years ago at the swing position and compared their point product to the one player Rutgers eventually signed, Ricky Shields. Ricky Shields averaged 11.5ppg. this past year as a freshman for RU. Ernest Turner of Stirling, New Jersey, averaged 2.2 ppg. for the Runnin Rebels of UNLV. Floyd North, a swing from San Francisco and a potential professional baseball player, averaged 4.7 ppg. for Oregon State. Jason McKrieth of Upstate New York eventually ended up at Rice University, Texas, and averaged 11.5 ppg.
