Jarrod Williams (6-foot-1 and 185-pounds) will be entering his Sr. year at West Chester East HS, PA. Williams, whose measureables certainly meet the standards D-1 colleges look for in potential recruits, was one of a handful of players brought in to work out with the Rutgers coaches at the recent Rutgers Football camp.

Standing in at 6-foot-1 and 185-pounds, Jarrod Williams [West Chester East, PA] was one of a handful of local area prospects that made the single day trip to Rutgers for the annual football camp. Williams had an opportunity to see the facilities, tour a little bit of the campus, and most importantly work out for and meet with some of the Rutgers coaches.

"This is the second time I've been here," stated Williams, in reference to his trip to RU. "I've talked to Coach Galiano [Williams' college recruiter for Rutgers] before and we have a very good relationship. He's a really nice guy and I feel I can relate to him."

Jarrod's mother, Mrs. Williams', accompanied her son to Rutgers. SOR asked Mrs. Williams to offer her general impression of Rutgers

"I like what they had to offer in terms of academics. The fact that their computer center is here [inside the Hale Center], the fact that they have the tutoring available for football is very important to him because we all understand that they have to prepare him for life after football as well. This is a very important factor for us," stated Mrs. Williams.

Where does Rutgers stand for Williams after his visit to the Big East school?

"Rutgers is definitely in my Top 5," stated Williams.

Who else is courting the Key Stone state product and what is his current recruiting situation like?

Though no offers have been extended yet, several schools have inquired and been in contact with Williams: Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Connecticut, Delaware, and Tennessee.

Williams, who estimates having had a little over 500 yards on the ground last year for the District 1 AAAA Vikings, also recorded a little over 400 yards receiving in addition to grabbing 2 INTs. A football player by fall, Williams runs track during the spring and has also played basketball.

In addition to being in attendance for one day at the Rutgers camp, Williams also camped at Maryland, Temple, and Pittsburgh.

"I liked Maryland a lot. The dorms are nice, the campus is beautiful and the competition was very good [at camp]."
