Silvestro looks to add more offers

Alex Silvestro has about half a dozen scholarship offers. After some strong camp performances, he is looking to extend his list of offers and make a decision before the end of the football season but these schools have changed his decision making process.

This is among the best football recruiting years in New Jersey - at the very least, when taking into account the tremendous depth of the class, it is better than classes in more than the previous 5 years. As direct evidence there are quite a few players in New Jersey who hold multiple BCS offers. Among these players is Alex Silvestro. This 6'4"-220lb DE/OLB has the ability to rush the passer along with the speed and athletic ability to play OLB, if needed. These abilities have resulted in offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa, Minnesota, and Rutgers.

In an effort to extend his offer list, Silvestro attended camps at West Virginia, Penn State, and Boston College. Silvestro stated that his performances at these camps have brought these schools closer to offering a scholarship."They told me to call back in a week and I did and they said because I came around late they would have to tell me after a while to see what other kids they offer do".

Although the above three schools have not offered, they are among his top 5 schools.

He lists his top 5 as Penn State, Boston College, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Iowa. Currently, he claims that he has no leader or an order for his favorites.

As far as a decision, he would like to make a decision before the end of the season but he has no timetable. However, he would like to add more offers to have more options. He stated, "Well,I want to see what the three schools just to get more options"

SOR will be there to report on his decision. Stay tuned.
