RU Offer for Florida Prospect

A tremendously athletic linebacker prospect, Dwight Hunt, by way of Miami-Edison Senior HS [Miami, FLorida] only played half of his junior season because of an injury. Despite that, the sunshine state prospect still finished the year with 50 tackles and three sacks.

Dwight Hunt, after missing half of his Junior year, is back to full health, bigger than a season ago, and is looking to emerge as one of the top linebacker prospects in South Florida.

"We've been practicing all summer," Hunt said. "It's just running, lifting, getting ready. Now I'm ready to start playing someone. We start in pads coming up here in about two weeks."

Hunt, 5-11 and 205 pounds, has been to just one summer camp and that resulted in a scholarship offer.

"I went to the Rutgers camp," he said. "I thought I did pretty good and they actually sent me an offer after the camp. Memphis offered me just recently and I think Akron is about to. I had offers from FIU, Wisconsin, and Baylor. I've been talking to Michigan State a lot lately and I think they might be close to offering, too."

The talented linebacker was asked for a current list of favorites.

"I like all the ones that offered basically," he said.

"I really like Memphis and Rutgers. I talk to the defensive coach at Rutgers and I like how they play their linebackers. They cover and tackle. I think I'd fit in really well and plus, they're a rising up program. I hope N.C. State offers me. That's the one I want."
