Alvin Bowen, RB/FB/OLB, 6-2, 200, 4.5 Montclair HS
No offers but is being recruited by Virginia, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Maryland, Boston College, Notre Dame, Michigan, Syracuse, Purdue, North Carolina State.
Virginia - "I like the staff. When I went to camp the atmosphere was good and Virginia showed interest in me early"
Virginia Tech - "I like the school the players that have come out of the school, like Michael Vick."
Rutgers - "It's close to home, the coach recruiting me (Mark Donofrio) is a good guy."
Maryland - "It is also close to home and Derrick (Harper) told me that it is the type of place I would like."
Will he make and early decision or a late one?
"I probably won't get an offer till the middle of the season and I'll probably talk it over with my mom and make a decision at the end of the season. If it is a school I really like, though, I probably decide right away."
"I am lifting every day. I lift in the morning and work in the afternoon. I am also doing some running."
Alvin is a 6-2, 200 pound RB/FB/OLB with 4.5 speed. He recently transferred out of Clifford Scott HS to play for Montclair this year and while not many of the gurus have heard of him, college coaches are paying big time attention to him even this early on in recruiting season. Alvin has received early interest from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Miami, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse and others.
Alvin impressed with his physique and athleticism at the "seven on seven" camp at Rutgers and at camp at Virginia.
Derrick Harper is a good friend of Alvin since the sixth grade and there is a possibility of both of them going to the same school.
