Rutgers Football and Recruiting

On Tuesday the 11th, Scout.com's Matt Alkire interviewed 6 foot 7 Elwood, NY wide receiver Ifeanyi Momah. The 2-star rated Momah is a sleeper with offers. Momah has camped at various schools across the northeast and is beginning to attract major interest.

Rutgers tight end Clark Harris was named an All-American Honorable Mention, and was listed among the top TEs in all of college football, it was announced Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Donald "Big Dog" Forbes and SOR.com presented an exclusive video interview with future Scarlet Knight Al-Majid Hutchins - Hutchins was interviewed by Matei at the Schiano 7 on 7 shootout.

On Thursday, incoming Rutgers freshman quarterback Tom Lang was featured. Check out the promising Massachusetts QB's video highlights. Lang possesses the dual ability to throw and run the ball.

Matei interviewed 2007 CB/WR prospect Jarrod Williams on Sunday. Williams, who stands 6-1 and weighs 185 pounds, enters his senior year will D-1 interest. He doesn't have any offers at this point, but likes RU.

This Monday, Don "Big Dog" Forbes announced to the Rutgers community that Union HS lineman Desmond Stapleton committed to Rutgers. Desmond, who's brother Darnell is a current Rutgers standout (he is the current RU starting Center), gave his verbal Monday morning, choosing Rutgers over Virginia, Marshall and Temple. He is looking forward to working with Coach Flood on the O-Line and the rest of the coaching staff, who he has developed a strong relationship with during his recruitment. (The next day DE/OLB George Johnson committed to Rutgers, but that's for next week's Rewind)

Alex Hesquijarosa caught up with 6-1, 165 pound wide receiver Alexis Robinson, out of West Boca Raton HS in Florida on Monday as well. Robinson has performed well at camps and enjoyed his recent visit to Rutgers.

Rutgers Basketball and Recruiting

On Tuesday, I spoke with St. Anthony's 6-1 junior guard Travon Woodall. Woodall is one of 2008's best players, evident with an impressive performance at the Reebok ABCD camp where he averaged 8.9 points. He is being recruited by several Big East schools, including Rutgers.

Scout.com's Russ Blake caught up with Mount Vernon guard Mike Coburn at the Nike Peach Jam on Wednesday. Coburn discussed his recruiting, informing Scout.com that he did not commit to Seton Hall, despite rumors. Right now, Rutgers is still in contention for Mike's services.

Russ also got the latest scoop on Devin Ebanks, who was also competing at the Peach Jam. The 6-8 Ebanks talked about his offers, his reclassification and his new prep school.

On Thursday, Russ Blake reported that Rutgers had offered Floridian Chandler Parsons. Parsons, the 18th ranked small forward by Scout, is a versatile forward with tremendous upside. Chandler recently received a number of new offers and doesn't have a top five just yet. SOR's Sardonic caught up with Chandler this Monday to discuss his recruitment: Getting to Know Chandler Parsons. It's interesting to note that Chandler's grandfather, Don Parsons, played for Rutgers from 1946-50 and made the NBA.

Scout.com's Brian Towney spoke with St. Anthony's guard Miles Beatty on Thursday. The talented combo guard has a long list of schools and holds an offer from Fred Hill and Rutgers.

The Big East released the conference opponents on Friday. RU will play Seton Hall twice in the regular season. Also on Friday, Russ Blake scouted and spoke with 6-8 center Christian Morris who has an offer from Rutgers. Morris has been impressive this summer. The rising junior plays his high school ball for the South Kent School in Connecticut.

Also, make sure you check out Scout.com's terrific national coverage of the summer tournaments and AAU events: Nike Peach Jam- Day 1 (part 1), Day 1 (part 2), Day 2 (part 1), Day 2 (part 2), Day 3. Harley Jamfest- Day 1 and 2. Playaz Ball- Semifinals, Finals.
