This, That and the Other
Uconn wrapped up its roster for 2002-2003 when the Huskies received a verbal from fifth year forward, Marcus White, Chicago, Illinois. White selected Uconn over Miami. Oklahoma had been a contender but dropped out after signing another player. White had signed on with DePaul but jumped ship when Pat Kennedy opted out of Chicago. Word out of Huskyland is that Calhoun loves Mustafa Shakur and will try to keep Mike Nardi hanging on until Mustafa decides. Seems Villanova and NC State are also playing the same game. Uconn is also interested in Sean Banks and Mookie Watkins of New Jersey. The Irish got a verbal from guard Colin Falls of Wilmette, Illinois. ND beat DePaul, St. Louis and Northwestern for Colin. He has a good outside shot and will be a nice addition to the team.
