"Rutgers Knight" Set for Friday

The Somerset Patriots baseball team will host "Rutgers Knight" this Friday, Aug. 4 [today], at Commerce Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater. Commerce Bank Ballpark will have a "Scarlet" feel to it when the Patriots of the independent Atlantic League take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 p.m.

Veteran Rutgers baseball head coach Fred Hill and Rutgers footballl Assistant Head Coach Darren Rizzi will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.

The Scarlet Knight, Rutgers' mascot, will also be there interacting with fans and participating in on-field promotions.

Fans in attendance will be able to enter their name in several raffles to win Rutgers merchandise and autographed pieces from a number of famous former Scarlet Knights, including WNBA All-Star Cappie Pondexter, Washington Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan and Kansas City Royals outfielder David DeJesus.

Fans who wear Rutgers apparel or present a Rutgers student ID or alumni card will receive discount admission into the game. Attendees can also stop by the Rutgers tent, located just outside the stadium, for an opportunity to pick up a variety of free items, including schedule cards and posters.
