Rutgers pursues tough RB

Xavier Stinson is one of the top football prospects on a loaded Chaminade-Madonna football team. This is the first we hear of Rutgers making an in with a player from Mark Guandolo's program. Stinson now becomes another major prospect on the Scarlet Knights recruiting board.

One of the top RB in South Florida is Chaminade-Madonna's Xavier Stinson. The 5'9 215 pound bowling ball has been compared by many recruiting evaluators to University of Miami's Tyrone Moss in terms of running style. Xavier has tree-trunks for legs and is a very powerful and explosive runner. He tallied over 900 yards and was a TD machine scoring 15 TD's for the most prolific small school in Broward County.

Stinson is hoping to have a monster senior season.

"I have been working really hard to improve my total game and to help lift our team to a championship this year. I have always been strong. I can bench press 330 and squat 450. But I have been spending a lot of energy on getting quicker. I can run between the tackles. But with improving my speed, I have shown recruiters I can now turn the corner effectively. As a team, we look like a great team right now and I am doing my best to add my part to the puzzle".

Stinson prefers to play RB at the next level, but is also known as a terror on the defensive side of the ball. His exceptional football skills allowed him to be named the Broward County Defensive Player of the Year.

As of now, Stinson names a top 4 of Florida State, Auburn, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. In regard to Rutgers, he has been keeping in regular communication with coach Rizzi. Stinson has no time-table for a decision, but would like to make an official visit during the season to Rutgers.

"I know they have a lot of Florida boys up there. I would like to check them out. They are one of my top 4".

The most important factors for Xavier will be playing time, the quality of education he can receive, and a strong family environment.
