Video Post-Game Coverage: Defense

It's become increasingly evident that the Rutgers Football defense moniker of "The Swarm" is more than apropo. The Connecticut Huskies got a taste of one of the top overall defenses in the nation this past Sunday night as their QB found himself looking over his shoulder on nearly every snap. Eric Foster is the vocal and lead-by-example leader and he was helped out tremendously in RU's 8th victory.

Eric Foster has become the on and off the field leader for one of the feel good stories of the season in 2006. Foster ended the day with 4 total tackles, 1.5 for loss, 0.5 sacks and a huge pass break-up as Connecticut was attempting to drive down the field late in the fourth quarter. Foster talked about the game, the leadership of teammate Brian Leonard, and more ...

Jamaal Westerman came up big when he forced Huskies' quarterback D.J. Hernandez to lose the ball, upon which Manny Collins pounced on and scampered 11 yards for the first touchdown of his career as RU jumped on top 14-0. Westerman finished the day with 2.5 sacks resulting in a loss of 18 yards, to go along with his 6 total tackles (4 solo). Westerman discussed his performance with the media after the game.

With the game still in the balance linebacker Quintero Frierson pounced on a dying football layed flat out in the open endzone after a Jammal Westerman blocked punt in the 4th quarter. SOR caught up with Frierson after the game.
