Jamaal Westerman and punter Joe Radigan received BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday for their efforts in helping the Rutgers Football team defeat the Connecticut Huskies on their way to an 8th straight victory to open up the 2006 campaign.

each came up big on Sunday evening in front of a national ESPN audience. Westerman totalled six tackles (four solo), recorded 2.5 sacks, had a forced fumble and a pass breakup en route to helping Rutgers
24-13. Westerman's blocked punt in the fourth quarter led to a Scarlet Knight touchdown that helped put the game away.
Joe Radigan punted seven times for a 43.4 average, including a longest punt of 52 yards. He placed two punts inside the 20-yard line. For the season, Radigan leads the BIG EAST in punting with a 45.5 average. This is his second Special Teams Player of the Week honor of the season and the third of his career.
Dustin Grutza of Cincinnati earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in a defeat of Syracuse.
Courtney Greene, also of Rutgers, recorded a game-high 11 tackles in RU's victory and was named to the Conference's weekly honor roll.
