Miami receiver continues to gain RU interest

While it appears Rutgers may be set at the WR position from a recruiting standpoint, one of the many stars of the Rutgers summer camp continues to hear from Rutgers. But without a scholarship on the table, he must sit and wait and hope for the best.

Miami Columbus High WR Matt Guinn recently completed his senior season. And for his stellar on-field performance, he has been named to play in the Dade-Broward All-Star game that takes place this upcoming January.

He is also in the process of working on his college recruitment. "Stony Brook told my coach they would be offering. A few other coaches that were at the Rutgers camp are supposed to be coming by the school to meet with me in the coming days. I am also sending tape to some MAC and Sun Belt schools".

But while the chances of him receiving a Rutgers offer this year may be slim due to low scholarship numbers, Guinn is holding out hope. "My head coach spoke with Coach Schiano and Coach Demo (Demarest) just the other day. They were telling him that they like me and still have me on their board, but they don't know yet what they are going to do moving forward. I just have to wait and hope."

Being that Rutgers will have coaches in South Florida this week, we will keep in touch with Matt to gather any new developments.
