A look at the KSU Defense

The KSU defense, while playing hard-nosed football and forcing 26 fumbles and allowing just 35% on 3rd down conversions, has had its struggles this season. They have given up 23 points and close to 350 yards per contest. In addition, opponents have capitalized in the red-zone, converting 60% of the time for TDs. Rutgers will need to exploit the opportunities presented by this attacking defense.

LB- SR MLB Zach Diles (6'0 240) is the rock in the middle of the defense for KSU. He accounted for 92 tackles (2nd best on team) seven tackles for losses and 3.5 sacks. And while Diles is the hard hitter, SR WLB Brandon Archer (6'0 239) is the playmaker. The 1st team All-Big 12 performer, Butkus and Nagurski Award candidate and two-time team captain led the team with 97 tackles. SO Reggie Walker (6'0 223) plays the SLB position. He is considered an athletic and quick player and was in on 32 stops this season.

CB- True freshman Josh Moore (5'10 168) from Blanche Ely HS, Fla took the "bull by the horns" this camp and has become a lock down corner. The former 3-star prospect earned All-Big 12 freshman honors while contributing for 28 tackles and 1 INT. JR. Juco transfer Justin McKinney (5'9 185) is another Florida product starting in his 1st year at KSU. He has accounted for 39 tackles and has a team-high eight pass breakups.
