Tall South Jersey JR WR one to keep eye on

The 2008 New Jersey recruiting class is one that appears to have some impressive athletes at the skill position. Today SOR introduces you to a WR from South Jersey that has a great blend of size and speed. This young man is one that is expected to make noise in the upcoming season.

Derek Gould, a 6'4 183 lb WR from Pemberton HS in NJ will be an athlete that receives considerable attention next year. The big wide-out is coming off a productive year where he caught 33 passes for 420 yards, on a Pemberton ball club that was mostly a running, grind it out team.

Gould is currently playing small forward on his basketball team and will run track this spring. "This will be my first year running track. I want to improve on my speed and explosion"

While Gould currently holds no offers, he is currently receiving interest from schools across the country including Rutgers, Virginia, UConn, Miami, Georgia Tech, and LSU."I am getting a lot of mail from different programs. I have only visited one school unofficially and that was Rutgers. I was at Rutgers for the Louisville game and that was a great experience. I want to go to Rutgers, but I also want to visit other places".

This summer he intends to camp at Rutgers, Temple, UConn and Penn State. He will also try to showcase his skills to the recruiting services and will attend the Elite and Nike combines, and is considering attending the Scout.com and MSL combines.
