Three horse race for Maryland RB/FB

Jourdon Brooks, the star RB/FB from Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, Maryland is heading in to the home stretch with his recruitment and expects to make a decision in the following week. He has narrowed it down to his top three schools of which he states "all are even at this point".

Brooks visited Rutgers this weekend and was impressed with what the Scarlet Knights had to present. "I think the visit went really well. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The academics, the tutoring and support staff, meeting the dean and seeing how much he is into the success of the football program- all were very impressive. My father and I thought the coaching staff and facilities were excellent. They treated us like family and we feel very good about the school"

Unfortunately for Brooks, current Rutgers commit Joe Lefeged could not make the trip to the banks this weekend. "It would have been nice to have him here this weekend, but that is OK. Joe and I have developed a great relationship. We went to combines and camps this summer. We get along very well".

Brooks is also strongly considering Tennessee and Illinois. Brooks has a HS teammate that will be attending Tennessee in Donald Langley. "It would be great to attend college together with Donald, but that would not be a deciding factor.

While Germantown is only a 3 ½ hour commute from Rutgers, distance will not determine his school of choice. "I feel comfortable at all three schools. I just have to sit down with my parents and weight everything out and see where I feel most comfortable. We have to look at the class that is coming in, as well as the players and coaching staff that is already in the programs".

All three schools are recruiting Brooks as both a RB/FB.
