Rutgers Football Schedule Announced

The highlight of the 2007 season RU Football schedule will be a record 8 home games at Rutgers Stadium. A pair of the games will be broadcast in primetime on national television and the dates have already been set. Additionally, a minimum of four games are expected to be broadcast in primetime and to be aired on national television in 2007.

The 2007 season will kickoff on Thursday, Aug. 30 vs. the University of Buffalo. The game will be played at Rutgers Stadium, the venue of the Scarlet Knights' first five games of the season.

In 2006, Rutgers recorded a perfect 6-0 record at Rutgers Stadium, including the program's most thrilling victory ever, a 26-23 decision over then-#3 and Big East BCS representative, Louisville. The victory over the Cardinals was the second-highest rated college football game on ESPN in 2006 in addition to being the top-rated college football game all-time on ESPN in the New York metro area.

Rutgers' second game of the season will fbe against the Midshipmen of Navy and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.

The remainder of the September schedule will feature home contests versus Norfolk State (Saturday, Sept. 15) and Maryland (Saturday, Sept. 29).
