Farrington looks to emulate Foster

Jamiel Farrington (6'2 240 DE/DT Homestead HS, Florida) chose Rutgers over many other schools vying for his services at his school last Wednesday. "I liked what I saw when I took my visit to Rutgers," said Farrington " It just felt like the right place for me.'

Jameil Farrington said that the decision was easy to make after taking his official visit. "Rutgers was different for me. It is like family. I felt at home there and that was very important to me," said Farrington. "I also liked the fact that there where so many players from the south Florida area".

Farrington plans on spending a lot of time with former Homestead and current Rutgers star Eric Foster this summer once he arrives on campus. "Eric has been very successful at Rutgers both in football and with his grades. He is definitely a role model for me and other kids on our area" said Farrington. "My goal is to work my self into the best player I can be, but most importantly I will be a Rutgers graduate."

Farrington said he chose Rutgers over written offers from NC State, UCF and Pitt, as well as verbal offers from Auburn and USF. "I plan on working hard and becoming an All American like Eric Foster, and coming back to Homestead and help other young athletes in my neighborhood prepare for their college experience."
