St Joseph's DB loves Rutgers Jr. Day

St Joseph's Prep in the suburbs of Philadelphia has been kind to Rutgers in the past. Two years ago they landed a man with a big time motor in DT Charlie Noonan. This time around, they are looking at the school for one of the top CB prospects in that region.

CB Greg Castillo (5'10" 165) from St Joseph's Prep was one of the invites to the recent Rutgers Junior Day. To say he enjoyed his visit would be an understatement. "It was flat out awesome" stated an enthused Castillo. "My coach sent tape over there and I got invited. I am being recruited by Joe Susan and he is just a class guy. Everything from a football standpoint, the facilities, is first rate. I also really liked the campus".

Castillo had a solid Jr. season and hopes to impress scouts and recruiters with his play this spring and summer. "I had 50 tackles, 4 Ints, and 17 pass break ups. I think some of my strengths are that I am a confident football player. I back-peddle well. I have good hips. I also have a good football IQ and instincts. I think I have very good ball skills".

While Castillo has no early offers, he is getting steady interest from Kentucky, Rutgers, Stanford, Boston College, Temple, Purdue and Pittsburgh. He will participate in the Scout.com and Nike Training camp events this summer. He is also looking at a number of summer camps as possibilities as well.

SOR.com will keep you posted on any developments in the recruitment of Greg Castillo.
