At 6'2"-253lbs, Cory Boatman can play position ranging from LB, DE, to NG. He also competes in the 200M for his track team. These abilites have a number of programs very interested in him.

Good Council HS in Maryland has produced a number of top level Division 1 prospects over the years. This season, they have a defender with size, versatility and motor. His play on the field has led to early offers.

Cory Boatman (6’2 253) played LB, DE and even NG for his Good Council football team last year. The athletic Boatman was in on 52 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 interceptions-one of which he returned for a score. “My coaches put me at a lot of different positions last year. I am a versatile and athletic football player and I think coaches will like that”.

Boatman prides himself as a young man that plays aggressive but also in control. “On my highlight film, people notice that I am either making plays, around the ball, or maintaining my assignment. Our coaches have been good at teaching me how to play responsibilities. I would say I also play with a good motor and am relentless. I don’t take plays off”.

This off-season, his position coach, Coach McFadden, has done a great job of marketing his budding star. “Coach went down to San Antonio and started giving out film to anyone and everyone. Coaches saw it and they liked it. Now I have gotten a written offer from Rutgers, and verbal offers from schools like Tennessee and Cincinnati”.

Cory visited Rutgers for their recent Junior Day. “I loved it there. It was a great time. I am being recruited by Coach Godette”.

Cory also has a strong interest in Tennessee and will visit them for their Junior Day later this month. He also plans on taking unofficial visits to Cincinnati, Florida and UConn. He is also being looked at by schools such as Maryland, Boston College and Virginia.

This spring Cory will run track for the first year and compete in the 200 M event. He will also participate in a number of combines.
