Buffalo Rips Rutgers 34-11

Can it get any worse than this? With Buffalo in a crucial fourth and four situation and forced to punt, Rutgers gives up a five yard penalty for having 12 men on the field. After two more Rutgers penalties the Bulls went on to score and Rutgers nailed down the 117th spot in the nation.

For the first time in 25 plus years of watching Rutgers football, I left after the 3rd quarter was over.

If you were at the game you certainly don't want it recapped. If you didn't see it then take my word for it, you don't want to know.

Rutgers and Buffalo came into this game battling to see who would be named the worst team in Div 1A football.

Rutgers left the game taking away that honor .... hands down.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) _ Randall Secky threw three touchdown passes to Andre Forde as Buffalo beat Rutgers 34-11 Saturday night in a matchup of two of the worst teams in major-college football.

Forde scored on catches of 12, 8 and 4 yards and Aaron Leeper rushed for 153 yards and another touchdown as the Bulls (1-1) won for only the sixth time since moving up to Division I-A team four years ago.

After giving up 508 yards in their loss to Lehigh last week, Buffalo held Rutgers (0-2) and new quarterback Ted Trump to 221 yards in total offense, including only 99 yards in the first three quarters.
