Lake Worth, Florida OG Joe Looney (63 315) visited Rutgers for an unofficial visit last weekend. The intentions of the visit: He wanted to have his family meet the staff and have them gain a general feel for how life is at Rutgers. I know that they will be very strongly involved in my decision for college. I need for them to be comfortable with wherever I go to school. And I have very strong interest in Rutgers, so we went up there.
Looney had some great things to say about his trip. I have been to Rutgers
before for camp and I love it up there. They loved it as well. They felt very
comfortable with the coaches, the academics, with everything about the school
While Looney could foresee himself playing for the Scarlet Knights, he wants to
take a few more trips before making a commitment. I met a lot of the new
incoming OL recruits, like Anthony Davis, Caleb Ruch, Desmond Stapleton, and I
felt I fit in very good with those guys. I could see myself playing there. But
I want to see a few more places.
Looney next looks to visit Alabama, and potentially Arizona State. Alabama
is a great program and they are recruiting me very hard. I know I want to go up
there and get a feel for life at Alabama. Arizona State is on me also. I would
like to see what they have to offer.
Looney, who was a top player at the Scout combine, will next compete at the Nike
and MSL events.
