Even though Baker feels strongly about Rutgers, he has no plans on committing until February. Maryland, Connecticut, and Virginia are other schools who are interested in his services. For Rutgers, it is the proximity to home. For Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia, it is their education and closeness to home plus they have a history of recruiting Jersey kids.
One of the things that will help a school in obtaining his service is a solid marketing program. Baker intends on majoring in marketing.
Although his junior numbers were good enough to warrant a spot on the all-county team, Baker hopes to improve on his 50 receptions for 900 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a senior, he has his sights on a position on the all-state team.
Baker will captain his team for the third straight year. The Bound Brook's pass happy offense should allow Baker reach his goals. Besides football, Baker lettered in track and basketball but plans on playing on the gridiron in college.
Baker plans include camping at Rutgers this summer, going to the Nike camp, as well as the elite camp in May.
