Scout MVP takes in RU Spring Game

At the recent combine in Randolph, New Jersey, a lineman from Delaware came to play and was clearly the best lineman at the event. For a matter of fact, his outstanding play earned Most Valuable Player for the whole combine. And that honor was very well deserved.

The most pleasant surprise at the recent combine in New Jersey was Leon Mackey from Cristiana HS in Delaware. For his superb performance he earned MVP honors.

Mackey is a young man with as much upside and versatility as any lineman in the northeast. He has an incredible frame, outstanding burst and will to dominate- qualities that will make him jump on many school's radar.

This past weekend, Mackey attended the spring game at Rutgers and liked what he saw. "Leon really liked Rutgers. He went up there with his running back, Dallas Brown. He really liked the facilities and campus. He thought the coaches treated him well. He felt a family atmosphere up there. They showed him a good time" stated his brother Gary Smith.

While he still stands at only one scholarship offer from Pitt, that is certain to change really soon. Mackey will perform at the Elite combine next Tuesday in New Jersey. The event will have many college coaches and it is predicted that with another strong performance, his offer tally will sky-rocket. will continue to provide updates on the recruitment of Leon Mackey
