Greg Johnson has everything a college program is looking for in a quarterback. He is 6'4"- 214 pounds with a live arm along with the ability to make all the throws, deep-outs intermediate routes as well as the long ball. However, his Ridgewood high school runs the Wing-T offense, and he doesn't get the chance to put up the numbers college teams are looking for.
A son of a coach, (Greg's dad is the head coach at Ridgewood high ) the younger Johnson is well schooled and prepared for the next level. Greg Enjoys breaking down film.
Johnson has no major offers as of now, but he has plans of camping at Boston College in June and Princeton in July to try to impress some coaches with his ability's.
Johnson is looking for a school that runs a pro-style offense. Some of the schools he is looking at, are:
- Rutgers - feels they have the best facility's out of all the teams he visited, plus he loves the coaching staff.
- Boston College - he hit it off pretty good with some of the coaches up there plus his dad knows Bill McGovern.
Johnson carries a 3.5 GPA and is also looking at Princeton and Yale of the Ivy league. The opportunities that they offer after football are among the appeals of these institutions.
As a child, Johnson was a Notre Dame fan, but doesn't consider them a option now. He also rooted for Rutgers, but that was mainly out of pity. He now pity's other teams that have to play Rutgers.
As a 9th grader, Johnson dreamed of being the next Jerry Rice until he was
forced to play quarterback and he never looked back. Opposing teams are wishing
that he would make the switch back.
