Touted Winter Haven QB D.C. Jefferson has had members of six universities come by the school. And that level of attention is surely to rise as the May evaluation period ensues.
Yolanda Lane, D.C.s mom states that Auburn,
Florida State, Mississippi
State, Colorado, Michigan
and Rutgers have come to see the signal-caller.
While D.C. is open to all his options, it seems like the Scarlet Knights are making
a strong push.
"Coach Demo was down here and you could see the "wow" come out
of his mouth. We spoke by phone afterwards and he said that he expected to see
a 6'4" skinny kid. But he said he was surprised by his size. He told me that
they would love to have him at Rutgers. Coach Demo, Coach Schiano and the Offensive
Coordinator (McNulty) are coming down for the Blue and Gold game on Friday, May
Besides the six aforementioned schools, Yolanda says "all the schools have
said they are coming in. There are a lot of them, so I cannot mention them off
my head. Most have said they are either coming in for the Blue and Gold game,
or the spring game on the 18th vs. Kathleen High School".
DC, who turns 18 today, continues to work hard in his attempt to be the best QB
he can be. "He was having some back problems earlier in the combine season.
He was seen by a chiropractor and that seems to have cleared him all up. He has
been working out everyday. Throwing. He says he wants to lose some weight. He
is at 6'6 ½ 240, but he is solid and not fat. But he wants to get leaner,
so he runs 2-miles every day".
