DC Jefferson gets visit from RU

Winter Haven, Florida was the scene tonight where Rutgers had three coaches looking at QB DC Jefferson. Finding a top QB is perhaps the most pressing need for Rutgers in this recruiting class.

DC Jefferson starred tonight in his team's Blue and Gold game. The 6'6 1/2 240 lb QB had a great game, throwing for 3 TDs. "He had some great passes tonight. He showed mobility in the pocket, shook off defenders, but then was able to stay calm and make some great throws. He had a 55 yard touchdown which he threw right down the middle of the field which was beautiful. Then he had another great throw where he avoided the rush, rolled out and found the TE in the end zone. I am very happy with the way he played", stated an elated Yolanda Lane, his mother.

Several schools were on hand today. UCF sent Coach Collins, who has done a great job making DC know he is a priority. Michigan sent a recruiter down as well.

And Rutgers was represented with Head Coach Greg Schiano, OC/QB coach John McNulty, and DB Coach Chris Demarest. "We spoke to those guys a bit on the phone and they were just great. My husband and I are very comfortable with them. I think they are a great staff".

While Rutgers and UCF have made head ways with Jefferson, Tennessee visits Winter Haven on Monday. "Coach Cutcliffe has been recruiting DC for a long time. They are a school he has always been very high on. I know he anticipates seeing him".

DC's spring game against Kathleen will be next week.
