Fork Union Prep LB Marcus Dowtin is one of the more coveted LB on the East Coast. His exceptional athletic ability makes him a priority with recruiters across the nation.
At this time, Dowtin just finished classes at Fork Union, and will be heading back home and sit down with his dad to formalize his summer plans. "Fork Union has been good for me because it provides a certain structure. Plus I have some great coaches, like Mickey Sullivan, who care for me and have down a great job getting my name out there. Now I am just going to go back home and start working out. Me and my dad will also continue to do our research and decide what camps and unofficial visits to take. Right now, I know we are going to Nebraska, Clemson and Georgia for sure".
Dowtin stands at 16 offers. Those offers come from California, Clemson, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa State, Marshall, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. "I am open to everyone that has an interest in me. I have 16 leaders right now. I will play for any team or any conference. As long as it is the best fit for me".
Dowtin has been outstanding in the combine sessions this spring. At a recent sparq event, he measured in at 6'2 215, ran a 4.4 forty yard dash, a 3.97 shuttle run, 33 on the vertical jump, and bench pressed 185 for 23 reps.
This spring, he has also taken visits to both Maryland and Virginia. "The coaching staffs at those places have been great and made me feel very comfortable".
And while coaches from across the country have come in to see him, the Rutgers staff also made an impression as well. "Coach Schiano and some members of the staff came by. He seems like a good and sincere man. I think I can fit in well there. I just need to get up there and see what they have to offer".
