Jack Crawford adds a Rutgers offer
Jack Crawford, a 66" 250 pound DL prospect, is up to six offers now with the addition from Rutgers today. The other five have come from Akron, Syracuse, Arizona State, Minnesota and Northwestern.
He had this to say about the Scarlet Knights. I spoke to Coach Schiano today. He apologized for getting in on my recruitment so late. He said if he would have gotten to my film earlier, that he would have offered sooner. He sounded like a great guy. I loved getting the offer from Rutgers. I watched them play against Louisville last year and it was crazy. I will be taking an unofficial visit there next Tuesday or Thursday.
Tomorrow morning, he heads to Penn State. I think they are going to offer. They have a great program and really hope that visit goes well.
Crawford has been in the U.S. for only two years and originally intended on becoming a basketball player. I came here from inner city London, because there are better opportunities in sports and academics here. I always grew up loving basketball and being a good athlete. I played sports such as basketball, soccer, rugby and boxing. But when I came here and started watching football and the intensity and physical aspects of the sport, I fell in love with the sport. I started playing and luckily I picked it up very quickly. My coaches and teammates tell me I am a fast learner. Plus I also have great speed for my size. I am the fastest guy on our team. And it has paid off. Now I am getting an opportunity to play college football and this is crazy. This is truly great.
Crawford admits there are many factors involved in making his collegiate decision. I just want to find a place that I am comfortable with in terms of the coaches, the players, and the school. I would love to be at a place with an exciting atmosphere and great fan base. There are many things to look at, but ultimately it will be about feeling comfortable and trusting those around me.
Crawford hopes to takes several other unofficial visits this summer. Some of the potential trips include Ohio State, Boston College, and Virginia. I want to get out to Ohio State and see what life is like out there. I also have some family in the Boston area and have been talking to a coach up at Boston College. I unfortunately will not be able to attend any camps because I will be heading back to London for some time this summer".
