Recruiting Journal: Bryce McClain - Pre-Camp

Bryce McClain talks about his experiences at the various Combines

In the next few weeks I will be going to several college camps. On June 15th, I will be going to a Penn State camp for a few days. Then, I will come back home for a few days then get back in the weight room for a few days, and then I will be at a Rutgers Football Summer camp from June 24th-27th. Then I will be on vacation, but still working out. When I come back from vacation the school is taking me and a few other players from our team to a bunch of other camps around the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area.

At the Rutgers camp I will be going through a series of drills. I will have to get there by the morning, get my room key and get ready. We will probably be learning a lot of new techniques. The coaches will be on hand teaching us, the skill work will be learned from our positions specifically. It's during a period of three days so there will be a lot to be learned. It'll just be fun and there will probably be a lot of college coaches there, as well as the Rutgers coaches.

On June 15th, after a long drive to Penn State there will be no time to fool around. As soon as we get there we will be giving our room keys and we will probably only have time to put our stuff down. Then we have to be back down there to start our games. This is a Penn State passing camp. There are a lot of different schools that will be there as well. If I remember last year, when we first got there we played about 4-5 games and then probably the same amount on the next day. This year I will probably be lining up at tight end as well as strong side defensive end/outside linebacker.

After I come back from vacation I will be going to a few other camps that will be mainly passing camps. I will be going to Freedom and Liberty camps with the team, then right after that we start our scrimmages with North Hampton and Sayreville.
