Davon Johnson is currently up to 12 offers. And while he enjoyed the attention from the spring pre-evaluation period, he is more focused on high school athletics and school. “I am not thinking much about recruiting right now. We had coaches from all over the country come through the school. Places like Iowa State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Florida, Florida State. It was kind of crazy. I know the USC coaches came by, but we were at a track meet and could not see them. But in the spring, track and spring football was my main focus. We had a great year in track and the work paid off. Now I am just working out and preparing for my senior year of football and focusing on my academics”.

Davon performed at the Miami camp this past weekend. “I had a good time. The competition was high. There were a lot of fast kids out there. I was named the best WR at the camp. Miami has good coaches and a good environment”

Up next for Davon will be the USF team camp and the Rutgers camp. “We have a skills camp later in the month at USF. And Brandon Harris, our QB Sancho McDonald, and myself will be going up to Rutgers. We went up there last year and had a good time up there”.

Davon does not claim a leader. “When it is time to think about recruiting I will. My mom and I have spoken about it. She does not care about where I go. She just wants me to focus on my grades and being a high school senior”. Davon carries a 3.0 GPA and he took the SAT for the first time last week.
