Fla DE Corey Liuget to camp at Rutgers

One of the important steps in recruiting is getting the very best prospects to camp. The Scarlet Knights have added another quality prospect to the list of attendees in the form of Corey Liuget, a player who holds over 45 offers. Take a look at what he has to say about his recruitment.

Hialeah, Florida is home to one of the best athletes in the country. Corey Liuget, a 6’3" 230 lb versatile prospect made noise last season as a DE and TE. He also lined up at WR and played QB for his squad. His performance earned him 2nd team All-Dade honors at TE, and the attention of recruiters.

Earlier this year, he shined at both the scout.com combine and spring practices. Currently after the early evaluation period, Liuget stands at 45 scholarship offers. He is on the radar of every major program in the nation. “Most schools are recruiting me at DE. Some want me to play TE. But I would rather play defense in college. Overall, I just want to play with some good coaches and players. Many coaches came through the school in May. I am getting attention from a lot of good programs and have spoken to good people”.

Liuget leaves on Thursday to camp at Illinois. “I am really excited to go to Illinois. I like Coach Zook. He is a great person. I am going up there with my teammate Evna Lisca, and hopefully they offer him as well. They are doing some good things up there”.

The following week, Liuget heads to Piscataway for the Rutgers camp. “Coach Demo has been by the school several times before. Coach Schiano was here once. My coach likes them a lot. They carry themselves very professionally and are doing a good job in recruiting South Florida”.

Liuget does not claim a favorite at this time.
