Some of the hardware Carter was able to collect from the 2006 season were 1st team all district, 1st team all county, as well as 1st team all area. These awards were all given to him for his play at the defensive end position, where he took advantage of his 4.65 speed to create havoc on unsuspecting offenses.
Carter used his athletic frame to his advantage on the hardwood as well averaging a double/double for the season. At 6' 6" tipping the scales at 255 pounds and a above average vertical, Carter was able to capture All-county 1st team honors.
Carter is a athlete rare to us because he has the ability to use strength and speed on an equal level. Even though he prefers to out quick his opponents, he has more than enough strength to over power his opponent with a bench press of 300 pounds and a squat of 550 pounds at his disposal.
Although he did not take advantage of the college football camps this summer, he plans to correct this oversight by taking a ton of recruiting visits. Carter feels he has covered most of what he needs to cover as far as colleges goes, he has done lots of homework in finding out what colleges have to offer through the Internet.
There are some schools that have shown Carter some early interest are Hostra, Akron and Stoney Brook. All three of those schools have at least sent a coach to see Carter in person and have requested game film on him. Boston College and Rutgers have shown medium interest and have requested he camp at their respected colleges through letters. Temple is a school that Carter really likes. He would have committed to them if they had offered earlier but now he wants to go through the process and evaluate all the colleges. So, a commitment early is not likely. Carter's older brother Bryce Carter is a member of Temple's football team, but that won't factor in Brandon's choice of schools.
Carter has been told by a few people his game compares to that of a young Dwight
Freeny. For his senior year Carter would like to win the shore conference championship,
become all state and represent New Jersey in the all star classic next year.
