Munford planning on big numbers in 2007

There are famous duos throughout sports such as Michael Jordan and Scott Pippen, Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith, or Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison. If you live near Montclair high school, you might refer to Celester Barnes, a 6' 3" 210lb linebacker, and Terrence Munford, a 5' 11" 175lb defensive back, as another great duo.

Munford is caring a great bit of weight around these days as he feels he let his teammates down last year. Montclair high school is a program use to having success but was only able to come up with a 6-4 record far short of the preseason expectations that were predicted by many.

As a sophomore, Munford registered 49 tackles, 4 fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and a blocked punt compared to his junior year when he had 49 tackles 1 interception, 2 fumble recoveries on defense.

Munford went to his coaches and brought up the idea of playing offense this year because he feels he can make an impact with his play making abilities and 4.45 forty speed. Munford's coaches agreed to his request and have penciled him in at wing back for the up coming 2008 season.

Munford's coach (Ed Madido) feels he has the ability to represent New Jersey in the NY/NJ all star classic this year. It is hard to argue after Munford made all-area and all- county honorable the last two years.

Munford has set his goals for the 2008 season very high after receiving an invitation to camp at the USA ARMY all star game in San Antonio, an honor that goes out to the top 400 players in the country.

Munford has recruiters visiting his school on a weekly basis. Some of the schools visiting Munford have been Wake Forrest, Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan State and North Carolina have all visited and asked him to their campuses.

As of yet Munford has no clear cut favorite but has made it clear he wants to stay on the east coast. Munford has a GPA of 3.2 and is looking to major in business or sports management, so a school that has one or both of those majors has an early leg up.

Munford ran the 100 meter dash last year in a time of 11.1 and the 200 in 23 flat but has no desire to run track in college. He may not even compete this year in order to concentrate on weight lifting and academics.

Munford compares himself to Dieon Sanders because he feels his great strength is his lock down corner ability. Unlike Sanders would like to be known for his run support.
