Rashawn Ricks

Rashawn Ricks, 6-3, 235, LB, Paterson Catholic HS

Current status of his Rutgers commitment

"I listened to the (Tennessee) game. They stuck in. They did one hell of a job. I watched the replay of the opening kickoff when Nate Jones took the kickoff a hundred yards for a touchdown. They are doing alright. I am very strong with my commitment to Rutgers. I am enjoying myself since all the recruiting pressure is off."

On Rutgers early games

"They are doing pretty well except for the first two losses. They played Pittsburgh well. There were only down 10-3 at the half and that's a Big East team. I follow them in the papers every Sunday."

On Paterson Catholic's early games

"I am doing pretty well. It is more a team thing. As far as my statistics the coaches haven't put up the stat sheet. Yesterday, I had a 9 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble against Saddle Brook. That is probably about my average."

Last year the 6-3, 235 linebacker had over 100 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles,1 fumble recovery and an impressive 15 tackles for loss. That performance garnered All County, All Area and All League honors. A former team mate of Rutgers tackle Devon Clark, Rashawn verballed early to Rutgers. He is a member of Mike and the Big Dog's Preseason All New Jersey Team.

Rashawn  was recently named by Prep Star to the All Regional team for the east coast.
