Tim "The Ghost" Brown is Back

The trio of Rutgers wide receivers including Tiquan Underwood, Kenny Britt, and Tim Brown pose a nearly undefendable match-up for the opposition. During the initial week of the 2007 campaign Tim "The Ghost" Brown and his blurring acceleration was absent - however, Brown came back in week number two.

Tim Brown, the blur of a wideout by way of Miami-Northwestern HS [Miami, FL], went down during pre-season camp due to a wrist injury. Brown, who exploded onto the national scene at the conclusion of the 2006 season made his 2007 season debut during Rutgers victory over Navy this past Friday.

Although a member of the tri-headed WR core, Brown also poses additional threats as a special teams player. Brown took part in a pair of kickoff returns, netting a total of 40 return yards. What Brown brings to the game, however, is a big play ability every time he is on the field - the only way to take advatage of his impressive acceleration and top-end speed is to ensure the young Scarlet Knight has the ball in his hands as much as possible. In addition to participating in KORs, Brown also took an end-around for 9 yards and drew an interference penalty on a long pass-play that nearly went for 7.

SOR caught up with Brown at the conclusion of RU's second victory of the season to discuss his comeback, the challenge of opposing defenses as they try to keep the tri-headed WR group in check, and also took a brief look ahead to the Scarlet Knights next contest.
