Big Victory for RU Commit Eric LeGrand

As Eric LeGrand continues to prompt prospects to join him in the Rutgers 2007 recruiting class, he has been leading his team towards the New Jersey State title.

One of Rutgers first commitments of the 2007 recruiting class was Eric LeGrand. This three-star prospect has been the "ambassador" of the class by attempting to convince other prospects to join him at Rutgers. LeGrand regularly stays in contact with many of the Rutgers commitments such as Art Forst, Rashard White, and Scott Vallone. In addition to the Rutgers commitments, he also attempts to reach out to some of the Scarlet Knights major targets.

Now that LeGrand is in the midst of his season, he has been focused on the success of his team. So far, LeGrand's team is 2-1. Last week, his team registered a big win as they defeated New Jersey's #7 ranked New Brunswick High School team - led by Brandon Smith. LeGrand lead his team to victory with 12 tackles, 135 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. These numbers bring LeGrand's season totals to 35 tackles, 4 touchdowns, 2 sacks, and 265 yards rushing. If he continues on this path, he will have his team contending for the New Jersey State Championship and he will once again be named All-State.

LeGrand has already been keeping a close eye on Rutgers and obviously enjoys the fact that they are ranked #10 in the nation. However, he states that "they are doing really good right now but their real test will be on Saturday vs Maryland, so we'll see how that goes". He does expect a Rutgers victory because he predicts the Scarlet Knights to finish "undefeated and national champions".

SOR will continue to follow LeGrand and all of the Rutgers' prospects.
