In just four games this season, he has amassed 796 yards rushing and 141 yards receiving. Smith has been a scoring machine with 9 rushing Td’s and 2 receiving. Overall, he is the 2nd leading rusher in the state of Kansas . He has also been a force on special team where he has returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score. On film, he is a big, thick kid with great wiggle. Off the field, he is already a full qualifier, is incredibly well spoken, polite and confident. Overall, he is a high major talent and has great tools for the next level.

Strength wise, he is ready to compete early at the next level. Smith bench reps 185 lbs 21 times and continues to spend time in the weight room. “I worked a lot on my speed through weights and running sprints this past summer and I continue to lift 3 times a week. I also caught what seemed to be thousands of footballs this summer in pursuit of becoming a better receiver”.

Brodrick did not attend any combines this summer, but did attend the Kansas State football camp. “I did well there. I was one of the top WR at the camp. I was timed at a 4.5 in the camp and they offered me soon thereafter”. Brodrick now holds offers from Kansas State , Wyoming , Colorado State and Arizona .

When asked about his recruitment he had this to say “the recruiting process started late for me but I guess living in the Midwest you sometimes don’t get the early attention. I know I can play at the next level, and I definitely have the work ethic. I just hope to find the right opportunity. I want to find a place that is all about working hard and persevering. I have dealt with a good deal of adversity in my life, and it has made me stronger and shaped the person I am and the man I will become. If you can maximize your god given abilities and drive through things, the results will take care of themselves”.

Broderick hopes he grabs the attention of other schools. “I grew up around Kansas State and know the program quite well. But I am open to going any where. I want to go to a place where the people are passionate about the program and get after it on a daily basis. I like some of the schools on the west coast. As a fan, some of the schools that I enjoy watching and think fit my style of play would be Oregon, Boise State, and Rutgers".
