Wedderburn starts to schedule visits

Three star TE prospect Mark Wedderburn plans to make his decision after he finishes his visits. Although Penn State is still his favorite, he is starting to narrow down his list and schedule his visits.

Three star tight end prospect Mark Wedderburn still has Penn State as the favorite from his 20 offers.

"I have good chemistry with the coaches," Wedderburn said. "Also, I've had family play there with my brother graduating from there in 1998."

Tennessee, Florida, Rutgers, and Louisville are also top choices for the tight end.

"Those schools give me the opportunity to play early," he said. "I like the SEC, it's a strong conference with a huge amount of talent. With Rutgers, I really like the coaching staff and the atmosphere."

He plans on visiting Tennessee and Penn State during the second week of December. He then plans to travel to Florida the next week.

"I plan on making my decision after my visits," he said. "I don't know how soon exactly, probably during my basketball season."

For Wedderburn, the three biggest factors will be stability with the coaching staff, a chance to play early, and receiving a good education.

Cardinal O'Hara Head Coach Dan Algeo said he thinks it‘s between Rutgers and Penn State.

"I understand he wants to visit other schools," Alego said. "But knowing him and the family well, I can't see him moving too far from home."

Last game he had two catches for 24 yards and a sack, forced fumble, and four tackles on defense. He has 17 receptions for 218 yards with a touchdown on the season. Cardinal O'Hara is 4-4 and its next game is on the road against Judge.
