6-foot-2.5 240 pound defensive end Anthony Blake is very impressed with Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are number one on Blake's top five list that includes Maryland, USF, Iowa, and Georgia Tech.
"I love the defense and the atmosphere at Rutgers," Blake said. "It would be close to home, and I'm used to the weather so that wouldn't be a concern. A few of my friends talk about Rutgers and my cousin Chris Baker played there."
Blake said he definitely wants to visit Georgia Tech and Maryland because he loves the ACC. Georgia Tech has always been one of his favorite teams, and he likes Maryland because the weather is not too hot or cold.
When it comes to decision time, he said he wants to make it as early as he can, but wants to wait and see who shows him the most interest because he still has another season left. Distance from home will be one of the main factors in his decision, along with playing time and what position he would play.
For high school, the defensive end just wants to recover from his ankle injury. "I want to stay healthy," he said. "I would like to get about 60-70 tackles and make some sort of all-state team. I want the opponent to consider me a threat on defense."
St. Peter's Prep rolled in their last game 46-0 and are 8-0 on the season. Blake had eight tackles and a sack in the win.
