Eric LeGrand has already made an impact on the Rutgers program. Since his commitment to Rutgers in the spring, he has taken it upon himself to call other top prospects to get them to join the Rutgers recruiting class. His efforts have help to lure four-star prospect Art Forst to commit to the Scarlet Knights.
Since the start of the football season, LeGrand has been more focused on leading his team to a state championship. He fell short of his goal with a loss to Scotch Plains-Fanwood H.S in the first round of the play-offs. Although he might not have led the team to a state championship, his team finished 6-3 with a win over top-rank New Brunswick H.S.
Individually, LeGrand registered over 100 tackles and ran for 852 yards from his FB position. His performance was enough to obtain a roster spot on the New Jersey squad in the Governor's Bowl.
When his schedule allows, LeGrand attends the Rutgers home games. When questioned about the Rutgers season, he stated "it might not be what everyone expected but it is still a success and they have learned a lot about the players they have and what they can do". He hopes to help Rutgers improve their record next year and continue the programs progress.
