Boatman's recruitment is heating up

Boatman has added 3 more offers and interest from schools in the Big East, Big 10, and ACC. Two visits have already been scheduled but he is still looking to determine his last three visits.

Cory Boatman has been on the recruiting radar since his junior year where he registered 52 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 interceptions-one of which he returned for a score. As a senior, teams focused on stopping Boatman by double teaming the 6'2"-265lbs DT. This tactic was not so successful as he still registered 60 tackles, 40 assists, 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and one TD. His efforts aided his team to finish with a 10-2 record and a berth in the state championship game.

Boatman's second standout season has attracted schools such as North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Michigan State and Cincinnati. Currently, he claims not to have a favorite but he has scheduled official visits to Syracuse and North Carolina. It is unclear where he will take his three visits but the above mentioned schools are all possibilities.

Although he is not willing to name any favorites, he did comment on some of the schools that he has scheduled a visit or might visit. For North Carolina, he feels that it is a good school where he will have an opportunity to recieve a quality education. Since the Tar Heels have only just recently entered into his recruitment, he is still getting familiar with the school.

Syracuse has been recruiting Boatman the longest. Therefore, he is really looking forward to the visit. He feels the Big East school has good academics.

Michigan State is new to his recruitment but Boatman feels it is a good school. He feels that they have a good coaching staff and a very good head coach.

For the Scarlet Knights, Boatman feels that they are a "good team and quality program and school".

Boatman is unclear which schools he will visit for his last three visits. Some of the criteria that might help his final decision would be "a school that feels I can make a difference and with hard work I can play right a way or red shirt for a year and then play right away". He went on to state "a school that I can walk away with a quality education".

As far as a final decision, he has no timetable and will likely take all 5 of his visits.
