George Baker Loves Trip Up North

Auburn commitment George Baker took his first trip ever to the Northeast this weekend while visiting Rutgers University. The 3-star prospect with a ton of upside came away very impressed. "I loved it up there. I had a whole lot of fun on my trip"

Many things stood out to George Baker. "I felt that I got along really well with the players. They have a lot of great kids from Florida and Dade County. But they also have some guys from up north that were great as well. I felt comfortable up there. Also, the practice was very high tempo and real intense. It was such a different pace from what we do in high school". Baker took the trip up north with fellow Dade prospect Corey Liujet. "I know he had a lot of fun and had a great time as well. He and I are both committed to other schools, but we are weighing our options".

Baker was hosted on his trip by Devin McCourty and is being recruited by Coach Demarest. "Devin was real cool. He likes it up there a lot. I spent most of my time with Demo up there. I was always by his side. We talked about a lot of things, not just playing football".

Last night, Baker had his one-on-one talk with Head Coach Greg Schiano. "He sat me down and we had a good long talk. He told me that they were very interested in me. He thinks I am a good player. He is going to come down in January to have an in-home visit so he can meet and speak with my mom".

Baker has scheduled visits to South Florida and Central Florida in January. He also is considering a 5th visit, but does not know where quite yet. He intends on announcing his decision around signing day.
