Taji Morris, 5-10, 175, 4.45, RB, WR, Peddie Prep, NJ
Offers from Rutgers, Boston College, Iowa, Hofstra and Lehigh
Boston College - "I really like the coaching staff and they seem to really want to have me as a part of their program. I like the atmosphere and it is good football. They are recruiting me as an athlete and that doesn't bother me. I just want to come in and be a big part of the success of the team."
Rutgers - "They also really want me to be a part of their program. They are upfront with and they tell me that I could in right away and be part of the program."
Lehigh - "This is my brother's number on school. They are saying to me that I can come right in and play. They are not Div 1A but they play good football. It is also a great school. "
On Rutgers games to date
"I understand the situation. They have to build in steps. If I come there I can be a part of them turning the program around. If I came there they could be good by time I am a junior."
On Peddie's early games
"This is a rebuilding year for the Peddie school. The first few games we didn't gel as much as we wanted but we seemed to have gotten things back on track. We beat Hun last week and that was a great win. We still have a chance to win the championship and repeat and that is the goal for the team this year."
Taji is modest. I had to drag it out of him as to what I read in the papers. He had a tackle in the last few seconds to seal the win for Peddie in the contest with the Hun School.
Taji Morris is a 5-10, 180, 4.45 running back who had 1355 rushing yards (over 9 yards per carry) and 18 rushing touchdowns together with 2 touchdowns receiving. He also had 8 catches for 190 yards. Taji was recently picked by Sprint magazine (a football publication) as a pre season All American at running back.
Right now, Boston College leads.
"They offered me first. I have seen them on TV. It is not too close and not too far and I know some guys there already. I haven't finalized my decision but I think that Boston College might be the place that I will play football. I will really take my time and make the right decision."
