Khaseem Green commits to Rutgers

One of Rutgers seemingly biggest needs in recruiting is defensive back. The Scarlet Knights coaching staff has looked to fortify this position. Last week, they added the commitment of David Rowe. This week, they added the commitment of Kasheem Green – a postgraduate safety.

Khasheem Green is a prospect that many Rutgers fans might not know much about. However, he holds scholarships offers from Hofstra, Rhode Island and Akron. Last season, he registered 117 tackles, 1 interception and 3 defensive touchdowns. On offense, he accounted for 7 touchdowns with more than 539 yards receiving.

Although Green registered over 117 tackles, he believes his coverage abilities should be revered. As he states, "I believe I am as good at tackling as covering".

Green's final decision was based on the family atmosphere he experienced during his visit. One of Green's high school alumni, Keith Taylor hosted him on his visit and showed him the attributes of the state university of New Jersey. Taylor's efforts were successful as Green stated "I like everything about the school. It is a family..." The biggest factor was Green's desire to return home. As Green stated "I wanted to go back home. I dreamed of coming home".

With the national signing day quickly approaching, the Scarlet Knights will look to add the best prospects available to answer its needs. SOR will be there to provide you with each development.
