DC Jefferson anticipates visit from RU Staff

Current Rutgers commit, D.C. Jefferson, will get a visit from members of the Rutgers staff tomorrow. We spoke to Yolanda Lane, 'D.C.'s mom today about the upcoming visit and his future at Rutgers.

"Coach Schiano, McNulty and Demo (Demarest) are coming tomorrow. They have told us how excited they are to have D.C. on board. We will be going over some basic housekeeping stuff, his future at Rutgers. It all becomes official soon. We are thrilled that we are officially becoming part of the Rutgers family".

One of the things Rutgers did exceptionally well in their recruitment of D.C. is to make sure he took care of business off the field. "They are very organized. They always made sure my son was doing the right thing when he was not playing football. They would make sure he was on the right path to succeed academically. And I know they will be on top of him when he gets up there with both football and his grades".

You could tell in Mrs. Lane's voice that they have made the right choice for her son. "I think my son is going to have a great college experience up there. He is a hard worker. He is a competitor. He is really feeling Rutgers and wants to become a leader up there. He is working out hard now and he seems very focused and determined".

The ultimate difference for them: "It feels like family. They really care about my son and that is what is most important to us. I know that if he puts in the work, they will put in the plan to help him succeed in life".
