No. 5/4 Rutgers hosts No. 14/16 Notre Dame

The Rutgers University women's basketball team is back on the hardwood and will do battle against its fifth ranked opponent in its last six games as the Scarlet Knights host No. 14/16 Notre Dame. The game is scheduled for Tuesday evening with television coverage on CSTV starting at 8 p.m.

No. 5/4 Rutgers (20-4, 10-1) will play is first home game since defeating previously undefeated Connecticut, 73-71. RU went on the road and lost a controversial contest against Tennessee and then traveled to Tampa and secured a 21-point victory.

The Scarlet Knights have won 11 straight games at the RAC and hold the nation's ninth longest home winning streak.

Notre Dame (20-5, 8-3), has won five straight contests (a pair on the road) including impressive victories against Marquette, Pittsburgh and at Syracuse. Notre Dame currently sits in fourth place in the conferences standings while Rutgers lies one-half game behind UConn.

RU last defeated Notre Dame in convincing fashion (76-60), last year, on ND's home floor. RU has also won the last three meetings and holds an all-time 14-11 edge in meetings between the two schools.

Television coverage will begin starting at 8 p.m. on CSTV.
