Now's the Time

Rutgers Head Basketball Coach Fred Hill has spoken very often about how great it would be for the tri-state area Big East schools (i.e., St. John's, Seton Hall, and Rutgers) to all take their next step together. His reasoning is that it would be a great shot in the arm for the local schools (and by extension the Big East, which doesn't really need one), and college basketball in this area.

The New York City area was once known as the locale of some of the nation's top ballers. It still is, but with the region's top kids going away for school, on a nearly continuous basis, the tri-state area schools (i.e., St. John's, Seton Hall, and Rutgers) have all lost some of their luster.
