Carson ready to narrow things down

Glenn Carson, the 6-foot-3 and 220-pound LB by way of Southern Regional HS (Manahawkin, NJ), stated - during SOR's last interview - that he intended to begin directing his focus on recruiting once his wrestling season came to an end. That time is now here and one of the east coast's top linebackers talks about the very latest.

Glenn Carson has seen the very end to his busy winter. On March 8th, Carson, one of the east coast's top wrestlers as well, suffered a 3-1 decision in the 215-pound title match to Jesse Boyden. Boyden's victory snapped a three-match losing streak to Carson. Carson, who ended the season at an impressive 39 victories with just a pair of losses, has ended his rivalry with the elder statesman winning 3 of the 5 matches betwen the pair.

Since the last time we caught up with Carson he has added scholarship offers from Duke and Penn State, bringing his total to 13. And as the offers continue to come in, Carson's focus has shifted, from wrestling to his college recruitment.

"After wrestling season, I started to focus more on the recruiting process. I took a recent trip to Penn State," stated Carson. "I liked it a lot. They have very good linebackers over there and have great tradition. They brought up the whole LB-U thing up and how successfull their LBs have been and how I fit the profile of what they're looking for in a player." Carson's unofficial trip, however, was earlier last week, rather than during PSU's Junior Day.

"I'm also going to go to Stanford and I plan on taking a visit to Boston College also," continued Carson.

With upcoming trips planned to Stanford, Boston College, and possibly to North Carolina and Virginia as well, where does the Jersey LB stand in regards to Rutgers? Have his previous feelings for his state school changed?

"Rutgers is so high on the list right now, that I want to make sure I visit all the other schools that I haven't seen yet, before I go back to Rutgers," stated Carson.

Not yet completely sure of his schedule, Carson states he is likely to be in attendance for RU's Spring Game, but if not then, he'll definitely visit soon thereafter. "I'm going to visit Rutgers again because they're very high on my list."

In addition to all the aforementioned schools, Carson also added that Syracuse may be on the receiving end of one of his upcoming unofficials.

Carson has been working hard in the weight room focusing on strength and agility and has seen his weight increase back up to around 220-pounds, just 10-pounds shy of his ideal weight.
